FBI investigations could not determine whether the three men successfully escaped or died in the attempt._x000D__x000D_ In 1961, the prisoners planned their escape plan after stealing spoons, coins, nail clippers, and even the motor of a vacuum machine to invent devices for digging a hole through the wall. During one midnight in June 1962, three of them had crawled through the hole and successfully walked to the sea. Inside Alcatraz, any device could be your escape tool, and a well thought-out plan is required.
